LEA-ANNA - MURDER 1st DEGREE REMIX Ft. LIONESS, CE'CILE & LADY LESHURR http://www.twitter.com/Leaannauk
Talented Londoner Lea Anna was first bitten by the musical bug whilst accompanying her mother (acclaimed reggae singer Debbie Gordon) to studio sessions. She immediately fell in love with it an this gave her the belief that she was born to sing. She also found musical influence in artists such as Jill Scott, Patra and Junior Gong - artists who evoked passion, great writing and high quality music.
Her drive to succeed saw her take up extra curricular activities such as piano lessons and becoming part of the choir in high school. It wasn't long before Lea Anna became the star of every concert and school recital. The Royal seal of approval came in 2006, when a performance in front of Prince Charles was highly rated by all in attendance. The following year saw an introduction to legendary reggae musician and producer BIgga, who worked alongside the young artist to create her first recorded track, a cover version of Tracy Chapman's "Bang Bang Bang". It didn't take long for a wider audience to recognise Lea Anna's potential and within months she was providing background vocals to Jamaican singer Queen Ifrika at the notable Rebel Salute show. During this time, Lea Anna began to explore and experiment with writing. After working with a selection of producers, it wasn't long before she was introduced to one of the most highly rated up and coming producers, Wundah (Blessed Youth Ent). This working relationship instantly clicked into place, and the results were testament to their potential - the track "Kisses" received widespread airplay across the board including being playlisted at BBC Radio 1Xtra. The pair continued to work together, and next came another playlisted track, "Kitty Kat". Her third single has continued her growth and progression - "Murder" sees Lea Anna tackle a dancehall track, produced by acclaimed Radio & Club DJ Robbo Ranx and is unquestionably the standout cut on the Champagne Campaign riddim.
Lea Anna has managed to make big inroads in a short space of time, and she is now turning her undoubted potential into strong musical projects. A young woman, whose writing goes from strength to strength - 2012 could be the next step in something very special...
