Jamaican dancer turned recording artiste Mystic, recently performed in the United States (US) in the capacity as a recording artiste for the first time, alongside internationally acclaimed producers Major Lazer.
According to Mystic, she performed to 7,000 patrons and the reception to her act was encouraging.
Mystic, who achieved Billboard success last month with her verse on Major Lazer’s Bubble Butt single, says the performance took place in Brooklyn, New York.
“Major Lazer/Mad Decent are currently doing a series of block parties all over the States and I was invited to perform Bubble Butt at an event called Mad Decent Block Party,” she said.
According to Mystic, she was surprised to see that Americans were already aware of who she was due to her huge welcoming reception.
“As the song started playing, girls rushed to the stage. Walshy Fire’s introduction got the crowd hype, mentioning that they have never done what we did before and phrases like ‘Bubble Butt’ and ‘artiste from Jamaica’ were enough to get the audience hyped up. it was amazing,” she added.
Bubble Butt currently has over twelve million views on YouTube.com. Mystic is currently in the US, working on more dancehall collaborations and will be looking to head off to Europe in coming weeks.
Major Lazer’s Watch Out For This (Bumaye) featuring Busy Signal is also doing well on the international scene and has received over 23 million views online.Tweet
