Telecommunications giant LIME introduces Peppa — a brand new entertainment channel on LIME Mobile TV during the launch of Shaggy’s new album Summer in Kingston tomorrow.
Peppa — dubbed TV with Hottitude — will be available on channel one on the LIME Mobile TV network with plans to feature some of Jamaica’s most popular entertainers in several brand new shows.
“Peppa is all about exclusive content and the personalities that people love. Our collaboration with Shaggy is perfect example of the high quality entertainment that our customers can expect on the channel” says Tara Playfair-Scott, head of promotions and events at LIME.
“As our first locally managed channel, Peppa will be exciting, cutting edge and most importantly feature programmes available only on LIME Mobile TV,” she added. “Real people in real shows that you want to watch.”
On July 11, LIME premiered its first locally produced programme Buss it Out — a daily call-in programme hosted by popular media personality Ragashanti.
Playfair-Scott highlighted that the company which recently expanded its’ foray into entertainment, is currently in negotiations with a number of local celebrities to star in upcoming programmes on the station.
Peppa received ‘thumbs up’ from social media fans when it previewed on UStream two weeks ago and according Playfair -Scott, attracted over 10,000 viewers during the three day broadcast period with no advertising.
The Shaggy album launch, which features the world premiere of his newest video Sugar Cane, will air live on Peppa and is free of cost to viewers on the LIME Mobile TV network
Since the launch of LIME Mobile TV, the company has broadcast numerous hot-ticket events including the historic Buju Banton Before the Dawn concert in Miami Florida, Pretty like a Colouring Book — a lecture by popular dancehall artiste Vybz Kartel on the UWI Mona campus and the 2011 Rebel Salute reggae concert.
