Jamaican Dance, a track recorded by Jamaican dancehall star Konshens, was recently recognized by dance and music lovers across the world during the celebration of International Dance Day (April 29).

The song was featured as the soundtrack in a YouTube video created in commemoration of the milestone, where dancers, both professional and amateurs from across the world exercised their dancing skills.

Jamaican Dance gained traction globally late last year when it was featured as the lead song in the video game hit Just Dance 3. Konshens joins a cast consisting of Beyonce, Rihanna, Katy Perry, Gwen Stefani, Lenny Kravitz, the Black Eyed Peas and Britney Spears among others.

The video for Jamaican Dance was shot in february of this year and is scheduled to be released June 2012.

Just Dance 3 is a dance and music video game released on the Wii, Xbox 360, and PlayStation 3 with Kinect and Move support respectively for the latter two. It is part of the Just Dance video game series published by Ubisoft originally on the Wii. It was released on October 7, 2011 in North America and October 11, 2011 in Australia and Europe.

Konshens also recently released a video for his latest single titled ‘a so mi tan’, produced by Daseca records. The video was shot earlier this year in New York while he was on a promotional tour for his debut worldwide album titled Mental Maintenance, released in february of this year. The song has been getting heavy radio rotation and is steadily gaining popularity across the island.
