Yardback speaks to Robert Cornwall ‘aka’ Dj dotcom.
Well i have to start with a laugh because from primary school i use to get in trouble just for beating down the desk, so from there i knew it was music for me straight. In junior high school i started to play out at school parties which was when I seriously got into music.
After leaving school and knowing my way around the turntable i started playing music in my community, and thats were my friends start calling me dotcom because i was quick on the turntable like the internet [lol] so i just add the dj to it and continue doing my thing. A friend of mine introduced me to a sound called Tie-one disco now called Digital Supreme, this was the first sound system i played on.
Still searching for more in music i move on to a sound call Dynamite international, until i was introduced to Crystal Clear Sound and thats were i took things to another level. Crystal Clear was my first big sound i have played on even though we played all over the island, i still felt like something was missing. So around 2007 i started to mix cds and give to my friends and the feedback i was i getting was very positive. A friend of mine introduced me to a label called Throwback Entertainment and there we start working together as a unit.
And thats how my mixtapes and the name dj dotcom became a household name across the world right now. I have played at most of the major shows you can think of. So to all my fans out there u can always listen out for new mixtapes and new riddims from throwback entertainment and some sick tracks from our artist Diestro.
