D’ Angel’s ‘Love Triangle’ – Artiste pens new novel

A few weeks ago, news surfaced that dancehall recording artiste and now ex-wife of the self proclaimed King of Dancehall, Beenie Man, D’ Angel, had penned a steamy and according to some, implicating novel. Well, after several interviews, tweets, internet postings and various discussion on other social media, it’s official; she does have a novel, and it’s entitled, ‘Love Triangle’.

Love Triangle is, however, not about the usual suspects. On the contrary, Love Triangle delves into D’Angel’s artistic ability and comes away telling a story completely the opposite of what many have suspected D’Angel’s reality to actually be like.

“For all those who have been saying this book is about my life,” said D’Angel, ‘sorry to disappoint them, but the tell-all book comes later this year,’ she jokes, continuing with, “but just for the record, the answer is no. Love Triangle is not my life story as so many have been saying it is, but is actually about one man and two women; two women who just happen to be friends, and unknown to one, although they talk about their man all the time, only one knows that they are actually talking about the same man. So, it’s a real interesting and mix-up story,” said D’Angel with a giggle.

Slated for release today, Love Triangle will be launched at the Sangster’s Book Stores in the Mall Plaza, starting at 7 p.m., and concluding at 10 p.m. With a slew of supporters from the entertainment fraternity slated to do readings and even short performances, and a guest list that includes the newly appointed Minister of Culture, Lisa Hanna and State Minister Damion Crawford.

According to Pageturner Publishing House’s Karl Larmond, “we are expecting a high-energy event and several surprise attendees – I mean, this is one of those events that you simply cannot afford to miss, regardless who you are,” he jokes. “Let’s be real, we are talking about D’Angel here. Hate her or love her, the reality is, curious minds want to know. And, they want to read what she has penned to either try to decipher, or put their own interpretation on what she has written. Some are already saying that she has changed the names to protect the guilty. But don’t ask me, I’m just a publisher, that’s an issue that has to be taken up with the author,” said Larmond with a smile.

Love Triangle will be available across the island wherever books are sold. In addition the novel will be available on amazon.com. Fans can also get ready for a series of signings across the island, beginning with her home- town – Spanish Town, and if they happen to miss the launch on the 29th, they can catch D’Angel in Washington DC on said weekend of launch, as US signings have already been confirmed for the First lady of Dancehall – An-So!
